Kenner is the 7th largest city in Louisiana, and the largest city in Jefferson Parish! Originally inhabited by the Tchoupitoulas Indians, Kenner was founded in 1855 by Minor Kenner. Kenner began to flourish in the late 1950s. The city has a total area of 15.2 square miles. Kenner is located on the west side of New Orleans-Metairie-Kenner metro area in Jefferson Parish. In Kenner there is also Ochsner Medical Center which is one of the major hospitals in the New Orleans metro area. Kenner is also served by the Jefferson Parish public school system. Most areas are zoned to Alfred Bonnabel High School but some are zoned to either East Jefferson High School or Grace King High School, both are in Metairie. There are about 9 elementary schools and 4 great private schools! And another great amenity is the North Kenner  Library! And to get to any of these places Kenner uses buses as public transportation!
